YouTube Content Ratings : Good to Know

What are YouTube Content Ratings?

When a partner uploads a show or movie that does not have an official content rating (i.e. MPAA or TV rating), youtube ask that the content owner rate any mature content in these five categories: Language, Nudity, Sexual Situations, Violence and Drug Use.
Each of these categories has three levels that the uploader can select when uploading. To make it easier to understand these ratings youtube note the different levels with distinct colors.

• GREEN represents no mature content
• YELLOW represents mild mature content
• RED represents mature content and will be restricted to viewers 18 and older

How to activate safety mode in youtube

 What is Safety Mode?

Safety Mode gives users the option to choose not to see mature content that they may find find offensive, even though it's not against our Community Guidelines. When you opt in to Safety Mode mode, videos with mature content or that have been age restricted will not show up in video search, related videos, playlists, shows and movies. While no filter is 100% accurate, youtube use community flagging, hide objectionable comments and porn image detection to identify and hide inappropriate content. Safety Mode on YouTube does not remove content from the site but rather keeps it off the page for users who opt in.

How to control the comments posted on your channel

To remove someone's comments from your Profile:

• Navigate to your Channel Page.
• Select the Feed Tab.
• There is a View button located above your activity history. If you click it, you will see an option to view Comments Only.
• Hovering over any comment will allow you to take action on a comment (for example, like deleting or flagging for inappropriate content / spam).
