What is a daily budget in youtube and how does it work

Your daily budget is the amount that you're willing to spend on your entire Promoted Video account each day. At this time, this programme applies an overall budget to all promotions within your account, rather than a budget per promotion.
We'll display your promotions as often as possible, while staying within your daily budget. When we reach your budget, your promotions will typically stop being shown for that day. Traffic can fluctuate day to day, so that some days users might not click your promotion much, while on other days they may receive a lot of clicks. To help make up for those low traffic days, on higher traffic days, we'll carry over up to 20% of your unused budget from those previous days. However, at the end of the month, we'll never charge you more than your daily budget, times the number of days in that month.
For example, let's say your budget is USD10 per day in a month with 30 days in the billing period. On some days of the month you may receive up to USD12 in clicks, while on other days you could receive far less than the USD10 daily budget. At the end of the month, regardless of how your traffic and clicks fluctuated, we'll charge you no more than USD300 for the calendar month.
To edit your daily budget, follow the steps below:
  1. Sign in to your account at https://ads.youtube.com
  2. Click "edit" in the Budget section on the left-hand side of your Promoted Videos dashboard.
  3. Enter a new amount for Max. daily (average).
  4. Click "Submit budget".

What's the difference between advertising with YouTube directly or using YouTube Promoted Videos

Buying promotions directly with YouTube offers different placement and pricing options that are not available through self-managed YouTube promotions. These placements require a higher cost commitment with contract requirements and invoicing options. Direct YouTube advertising solutions can be a great fit for a large ad campaign or a major brand-marketing initiative. Running promotions through Promoted Videos benefits smaller content creators and everyday users who are interested in promoting their content more actively with a competitively priced option. This can hurt the wallet far less and give a content creator more control over their visibility and accessibility within YouTube.

What is Google AdWords

Google AdWords is a quick and simple way to advertise on Google and its ad partners, regardless of your budget. AdWords promotions are displayed along with search results on Google, as well as on search and content sites in the growing Google Network, which includes websites like AOL, EarthLink, HowStuffWorks & Blogger. With searches on Google and page views on the Google Network each day, your Google AdWords promotions reach a vast audience.
When you create an AdWords ad to run on Google and its search partners, you can choose keywords for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount that you're willing to pay for each click. You pay only when someone clicks your ad.
When you create an AdWords ad to run on the Display Network, you can choose the exact content placements in which you'd like your ad to appear or you can let contextual targeting match your keywords to content. You can pay for each click (CPC) or for each thousand times that someone sees your ad (which is called CPM bidding).
To save you even more money, our AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual cost per click (or CPC) that you pay to the lowest cost needed to maintain your ad's position. The AdWords Discounter keeps working, no matter which method of display or bidding that you choose.
There's no minimum monthly charge with AdWords - just a nominal activation fee. You can choose from a variety of ad formats, including text, image and video ads, and easily track your ad performance using the reports in your online account Control Centre.
To find out more about Google AdWords or to begin creating your ads, visit the AdWords homepage.

What are YouTube Promoted Videos

YouTube and Google AdWords have partnered to offer YouTube Promoted Videos, an advertising solution that allows YouTube users, partners and advertisers to promote their video content within the YouTube website.
The Promoted Videos programme is built on the AdWords auction system. You can set the maximum price that you're willing to pay per click (your maximum cost per click) and tell us how much you want to spend in total per day (your daily budget). Then you can create your promotions for your videos and we'll run them on the YouTube site. They'll appear either above or next to YouTube search results.
First, you'll need a Google Account, if you don't have one already. Then, once you link your YouTube and AdWords accounts, you can start creating promotions.
To get started, visit http://ads.youtube.com.

Link youtube and adsense accounts

There are two ways of linking your YouTube account to AdSense once you have been approved to become a YouTube Partner or have been invited to the Individual Partnership Program:

You already have an active AdSense account:
  1. Sign in to your YouTube account (Note: sign in on a separate browser if your YouTube login email address is different from your AdSense login).
  2. Click on the link in the notification box appearing on your homepage to complete your application.
  3. Go through the tutorial/guidelines.
  4. When asked to associate an AdSense account, enter your AdSense account information in the appropriate field.
  5. Accept the Terms of Service and confirm.
  6. Sign into your AdSense account. (Again, use a separate browser if your YouTube and AdSense login email addresses are not the same.)
  7. Allow YouTube to access your AdSense account. This is done under the "Home" tab, in the "Account settings" section and then under "3rd-party access."
Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your YouTube and AdSense accounts to link. Once you have submitted your AdSense information, please ignore any requests for you to link the two accounts. You should receive an email from YouTube once the accounts have been linked successfully.

You don't have an active AdSense account yet:
  1. Sign in to your YouTube account.
  2. Click on the link in the notification box appearing on your homepage to complete your application.
  3. Go through the tutorial/guidelines.
  4. When asked to associate an AdSense account, select the option to create a new AdSense account.
  5. Fill in the application form and submit your application to AdSense for review. (Note: It typically takes 3 business days for your application to be reviewed.)
